There are lots of different reasons why someone may choose to go to therapy. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to and to hear us, or validate our decisions. Other times, there are bigger issues that we want someone to help us explore, understand and be there to support us through our journey. Whatever your reason may be, my goal is to provide a space where you feel safe to explore and share your thoughts, beliefs, values and feelings. Some of the more common reasons why someone would come into therapy are listed below, however, I will welcome you no matter what your situation is.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions and somatic experiences that can linger post traumatic events. Learning ways to help cope and learn about your body and what it is telling you can help lessen the emotional and somatic bodily responses.
Individual therapy is a personal session. It's you and myself. The session is based solely on the topic that you bring to your therapy session. I work with children 12 years and up and through all stages of someone's life.
